What this video covers
The video shows how to use the Pitchdeck Presentation Studio Figma plugin to export a Figma presentation as a PowerPoint PPTX with an MP4 video embed. It explains how to set up a thumbnail and video placeholder, paste a Dropbox MP4 URL into Pitchdeck, enable the PowerPoint embed option, and download a PPTX that plays the video in Microsoft PowerPoint.
Things you'll need
- A Figma file with frames to export
- An MP4 video hosted on Dropbox or another file hosting service
- Microsoft PowerPoint desktop app to play the embedded video
Steps
- Open the Figma file, search for Pitchdeck from the actions menu, and run or save the Pitchdeck plugin.
- Create a thumbnail image layer for the video and duplicate it to make a separate placeholder layer named for the video embed.
- Upload the MP4 file to Dropbox, copy the file link, and paste that URL into the video layer in Pitchdeck.
- Refresh the layers so the thumbnail and video layers appear correctly in the plugin.
- Open the export menu, change the export format from web URL to PowerPoint, and turn on Include MP4 video URL embeds.
- Click Export for PowerPoint, then download the PPTX file.
- Open the PPTX in Microsoft PowerPoint and play the embedded video from the slide.
