What this video covers
This tutorial shows how to use the Pitchdeck Figma plugin to export a Figma presentation to PowerPoint with master slide layouts created from Figma components. It also shows how locking a layer in Figma makes that element export as a static image instead of an editable placeholder.
Things you'll need
- A Figma file with the slides, frames, components, or instances you want to export
- The Pitchdeck Figma plugin installed or saved in Figma plugins
Steps
- Open the Figma Resources panel, search for Pitchdeck under Plugins, and run or save the plugin.
- Right-click the slide frames you want to use, choose Create component, and refresh the slides in Pitchdeck so the components appear in the deck.
- Open the export panel, select PowerPoint, and enable Create PowerPoint master slides from components in the PowerPoint settings.
- Click Export for PowerPoint, then download the .pptx file and open it in PowerPoint.
- Use Insert new slide in PowerPoint to add the master slides created from the Figma components.
- If you want an image or logo to stay static, lock that layer in Figma before exporting again.
- Re-export the deck and confirm the locked layer appears as a static image while text remains as placeholders.
