Embed YouTube videos in Figma presentations

This tutorial shows how to use the Pitchdeck Figma plugin to embed a YouTube video into a Figma presentation slide and publish it through Pitchdeck. It also demonstrates how to control the video embed and open the uploaded web presentation with or without a password.

Things you'll need

  • A Figma file with frames already set up for the presentation
  • The Pitchdeck Figma plugin
  • A YouTube video URL

Steps

  1. Open a Figma file, go to Resources, search for Pitchdeck under the Plugins tab, and run or save the plugin.
  2. Create presentation frames in Figma, with each frame acting as a slide.
  3. Open Pitchdeck, go to the GIFs/Videos/Embeds tab, and select the layer you want to replace with a video embed.
  4. Copy a YouTube video URL or YouTube short URL, paste it into the embed input field, and confirm the video starts playing.
  5. Adjust playback options such as controls, autoplay, and loop if needed.
  6. Click Export Presentation, then choose Upload Web Presentation or Update Web Presentation to send the slides to Pitchdeck.
  7. Copy the web presentation URL, then open it in a browser to view the embedded YouTube video in the presentation.
