Adding slides to your deck
Any top level Figma Frames, Figma Components or Figma Instances that you add to your Figma page will be treated as slides in the Pitchdeck plugin.
For the best results, please ensure that all of the Figma Frames, Figma Components or Figma Instances you want to use for slides are all the same size.
Using a consistent frame size at a 16:9 ratio (for example, 1280x720 or 1920x1080) tends to work best for presenting on most screens.
Adding longer scrollable frames Including any Figma Frames, Figma Components or Figma Instances that are taller than they are wide (for example, 1920x2600) will automatically be turned into "scrollable" slides when presenting in the Pitchdeck Web App; this can be helpful for presenting things like website mockups or other longform "pages" in your deck.
If you want to use portrait orientation frames (for example, 1080x1920) and not have them scrollable (which is the default behavior), you can add &contain=true to your passwordless Pitchdeck presenatation URL, or ?contain=true to your Pitchdeck URL that doesn't have a token, and this will ensure the slide is contained within your screen size and doesn't scroll.
Rotated parent frames will affect element positioning. Note that using a parent frame that has rotation (any non-zero value), will affect the x/y positions of its children. This can sometimes happen by accident if you initially created a portrait frame, then rotated it to landscape. To ensure that everything is positioned correctly, please ensure that your parent Figma Frames, Figma Components or Figma Instances don't have any rotation on them.
Loading slides from Figma
If you select a subset of your top level Figma Frames, Figma Components or Figma Instances on the canvas before opening Pitchdeck, or before refreshing the slide loader, Pitchdeck will focus on those selected items so you can load just that subset.
This temporary canvas selection does not change the include or exclude checkboxes for your other slides. You can refresh again later to load additional slides without losing the saved checkbox state for slides that were not part of the current Figma selection.
Selecting a slide to edit
You can switch between your slides in the plugin by clicking the image thumbnail for each frame in the left hand side of the Pitchdeck plugin.
Parent level Figma frames required. To load any slides into Pitchdeck, your Figma page must contain at least one parent Figma Frame, Figma Component or Figma Instance. This means, any Figma Frames, Figma Components or Figma Instances that are located directly underneath your page.
Including or excluding slides
Select slides in the organizer, then choose Include or Exclude in its selection actions. Excluded slides have an Excluded badge on their thumbnail. The checkbox beside each slide name selects it for editing; it does not change whether the slide is included. In Figma Design, the Included checkbox above the organizer toggles all loaded slides.
Refreshing your slides from Figma frames
If the Pitchdeck plugin is already running and you need to add or remove any parent Figma Frames, Figma Components or Figma Instances on your current Figma page, you can make those updates as needed and then click on the Refresh icon button in the Pitchdeck plugin toolbar.
Auto-scrolling slides into view
To Switch between editing slides, Pitchdeck automatically scrolls a slide into view in the preview window when it's corresponding layer (or child layer) is clicked on the Figma page.
This also works the other way around, where if you click on the frame, component or instance icon button (depending on the slide layer type) next to the title of your slide in the preview window, the corresponding Figma Frame, Figma Component or Figma Instance will be automatically scrolled and zoomed into view on your Figma page.
Resizing the plugin window
If you're using a bigger (or smaller) computer monitor, Pitchdeck lets you resize the plugin window to make it easier to use and view the timeline depending on the size of your screen. You can resize the window from smaller to larger (4K) sizes by clicking the size dropdown in the main plugin header menu.
Organize several slides
Use List for the filmstrip or Grid for a slide sorter. Search by slide name, or filter by section. Hold Command/Ctrl while clicking thumbnails to select several slides; hold Shift for a range. This selection is separate from whether slides are included in the presentation.
The selection actions let you duplicate slides, rename a single slide, move selected slides, assign a section or Export selected. Exporting a selection opens the export panel for that temporary subset and keeps the deck's included slides unchanged.
Drag selected slides to reorder them, or use the Move controls. Clear the search and section filter before dragging. In native Figma Slides, reordering follows the slide grid and Include/Exclude corresponds to Figma's skipped-slide state.
Use Add section to name a section, then assign selected slides to it. Sections help organize and filter the deck; they do not change the slide artwork.
Choose a layout
Choose Add slide in the header. Search the named layouts or filter by category to find a starting point. The master-slide list is searchable too. The Theme styles view lists the styles available in the file; apply their styling in Figma.
Check quality, search and recovery
Use Check presentation to review missing fonts, small or clipped text, known solid-background contrast, content outside the slide, image descriptions, reading order, asset sizes and motion compatibility. Select a finding to locate its object. Check web links online makes browser HEAD requests to the linked sites without credentials. CORS, authentication and HEAD support can make availability unknown; open those links manually.
Compare exported appearance overlays the source slide with a PNG, JPEG or WebP rendered by the destination tool. The pixel comparison is a review aid; differences can come from font rendering, compression or alignment.
Commands / Search finds slide names, notes, object names and source text. Large slide lists are virtualized. After an interrupted metadata save, Review recovered edits lets you inspect a local checkpoint. Recovery restores fields that still match their earlier values and keeps conflicting newer edits. It does not replace Figma's version history or undo source edits.
Saved audience shows
Open Saved audience shows from Commands. Give the show a name, include slides, arrange their delivery order and set optional notes and timings. Choose it in Active show to use that version for Present, Share and Export. The source slides' include flags, order and notes stay intact. A one-off selected-slide export takes precedence.
Use Full deck to return to the source version. Missing source slides must be reviewed before a show can be delivered. Presenter and Local HTML offer Use show timings for automatic advancement; MP4 uses the saved hold times, extending them when builds or narration need longer. PowerPoint's supported native timing path carries automatic slide timings. Up to 50 shows can be saved; the combined presentation settings budget is 90 KB.
Changing the active show does not upload it automatically. Share asks you to update when the current link contains another audience version. Updating uses the page's existing URL and replaces its uploaded contents. For independent URLs, use the separate page/file workflow.
