Video Tutorial: Embed Vimeo videos in Figma presentations
This video walks through how to embed Vimeo videos into Figma presentations created with the Pitchdeck plugin.
You can embed a Vimeo video by copying a Vimeo video URL, then pasting the URL into a Pitchdeck layer's Embed input field.
Example Vimeo URL
https://vimeo.com/304626830
If Vimeo gives you a share URL with an extra private or unlisted token, paste that full URL into Pitchdeck as well instead of trimming it back to the public-looking part.
Before you export
- Vimeo and YouTube embeds are used in the Pitchdeck web presentation, not in PowerPoint, Keynote, or Google Slides exports.
- Paste the exact Vimeo share URL from your browser or Vimeo's Share dialog.
- If the video is part of a private or unlisted Vimeo workflow, keep the full URL intact when you paste it into Pitchdeck.
Troubleshooting Vimeo privacy errors
Pitchdeck renders Vimeo videos through Vimeo's own embedded player. If Vimeo says the video cannot be shared because of a privacy setting:
- Open the same Vimeo URL directly in your browser first and confirm it loads there.
- Copy the original Vimeo share URL again and paste that full URL into Pitchdeck.
- If Vimeo still refuses to play the video in the embedded player, check the video's Vimeo privacy or embed permissions with the video owner before troubleshooting Pitchdeck further.
If you need a direct file embed for a presentation export, use a hosted .mp4 URL instead of a Vimeo page URL.
