This video shows how to use the CopyDoc Figma plugin to export Figma text layers to a DOCX file, edit the copy in Microsoft Word, and then import the updates back into Figma. It also demonstrates that formatting changes and text edits in the Word document can be reflected in the Figma file.
Things you'll need

- Microsoft Word
Steps
- Open Figma Resources, search for CopyDoc under the Plugins tab, and save the plugin if desired.
- Run CopyDoc from Saved Plugins in the Figma canvas.
- Choose export text layers, select DOCX as the export format, pick the frames to include, and export the DOCX file.
- Unzip the exported folder and open the DOCX file in Microsoft Word.
- Edit the text content in Word, including text, links, and formatting such as bold and italic, then save the document.
- Return to Figma, choose import text layers, and drag and drop the DOCX file into the plugin.
- Review the preview of changes, then click update Figma text layers to apply the updates to the file.
