What this video covers
This video shows how to use the CopyDoc Figma plugin to export text content from Figma frames into Microsoft Excel .xlsx files. It also explains the two export modes: one Excel file with tabs per frame, or one Excel file per frame, and notes that this Excel export is not meant for re-importing back into Figma.
Things you'll need
- Figma
- The CopyDoc Figma plugin
- At least one Figma frame with text content
Steps
- Install CopyDoc from the Figma Community by searching for "CopyDoc" under the Plugins tab and clicking Install.
- Open a Figma file that contains at least one frame with text content, then right-click and choose Plugins > CopyDoc.
- In CopyDoc, open Export Frames under the Export Figma Frames menu item and choose Microsoft Excel (.xlxs).
- Optionally enable design references or select the Excel File Per Frame option if you want separate XLSX files for each frame.
- Select the frames you want to export and arrange their order if needed.
- Click Export XLSX, then Download XLSX Export, and save the zip file.
- Unzip the download and open the XLSX file in Microsoft Excel to view the exported frame text in tabs or as a single Figma Text sheet.
