What this video covers
The video shows how to use the CopyDoc Figma plugin to sync layer content from a CSV, Excel file, or Google Sheets URL. It also demonstrates the auto repeat feature, which duplicates a selected Figma layer or component across spreadsheet rows and fills in matching content automatically.
Things you'll need
- A Figma file with layers named to match the spreadsheet headers.
- A CSV, Excel file, or a publicly shareable Google Sheets URL.
Steps
- Open a Figma file, find CopyDoc from Resources or Saved plugins, and launch the plugin.
- In CopyDoc, open sync content and choose a source such as CSV, Excel, or Google Sheets URL.
- Make sure the Figma layer names match the spreadsheet column headers, such as title, genre, minutes, and poster.
- Drag and drop the CSV into the Drop Zone, preview the rows, and click sync rows with layers to map selected layers to the data.
- Turn on auto repeat, select a single layer or instance with named nested layers, and click sync and repeat selected layer to duplicate it for each spreadsheet row.
- Optionally place the layer inside an existing auto layout frame first so the repeated copies stay inside that container.
- For Google Sheets, set General access to anyone with the link, copy the sheet URL, paste it into CopyDoc, and load the content preview.
