Things you'll need

  • Figma
  • CopyDoc installed from the Figma Community
  • A spreadsheet app that can open and save CSV files

Steps

  1. Install CopyDoc from the Figma Community if it is not already installed.
  2. In Figma, right click, open Plugins, and launch CopyDoc.
  3. Click Export CSV, choose the frames to export, then download the text as a zip file containing the CSV and frame references.
  4. Open the CSV in a spreadsheet app, edit the text, use find and replace if needed, and export the file back to CSV.
  5. In CopyDoc, click Import CSV and drag in the updated CSV file.
  6. Review the detected differences, use the magnifying glass icons to jump to affected layers, and deselect any changes you do not want.
  7. Click Update Figma Text Layers to apply the selected text changes, or use CMD + Z / CTRL + Z to undo if needed.
