This tutorial shows how to use the CopyDoc Figma plugin to sync content from a public Google Sheets spreadsheet into matching Figma layers. It covers preparing spreadsheet headers and layer names, sharing the sheet publicly, and syncing text and image URLs into selected Figma instances or layers.

Things you'll need

• A Figma account with the CopyDoc plugin installed.
• A Google Sheet prepared with matching headers and, for images, public image URLs.

Steps

1. Install CopyDoc from the Figma Community under the Plugins tab.
2. Set up a Google Sheet with a header row whose column names match Figma layer names such as #Title and #Poster.
3. For image fields, paste image URLs into the spreadsheet so CopyDoc can download and apply them as image fills.
4. In Google Sheets, use Share, change access from Restricted to Anyone with the link, and copy the link.
5. In Figma, open CopyDoc from Plugins and go to Sync Content, then choose Sync Public Google Sheet.
6. Paste the Google Sheets URL into the plugin and confirm the spreadsheet columns load correctly.
7. Select the matching Figma layers or instances, then click Sync Spreadsheet Rows with Figma Layers to populate the design.
