Things you'll need

  • A Figma file with image layers selected for export
  • The TinyImage Figma plugin installed or saved in Figma

Steps

  1. Open the Figma file, find TinyImage from the actions menu, and save or run the plugin.
  2. Select the image layers you want to export and add export settings on the right-hand panel, including formats and scales if needed.
  3. Refresh TinyImage so the exportable assets appear in the plugin.
  4. Open the TinyImage settings panel and edit the Custom File Name Format field.
  5. Insert dynamic variables such as section, frame, format, width, height, scale, date, or suffix, and use slashes to turn them into folders.
  6. Optionally add static text, such as images or assets, to mix manual labels with dynamic variables.
  7. Export the assets, unzip the file, and check that the folders and file names match the custom path format.
