What this video covers
This tutorial shows how to install TinyImage Compressor from the Figma Community and use its Size target option to compress images to a specific kilobyte limit. It also shows how to set a global file size target, override it for individual images, and export the results from Figma.
Things you'll need
- Figma
- TinyImage Compressor installed from the Figma Community
Steps
- Search the Figma Community for TinyImage and install TinyImage Compressor.
- Open your Figma file, right-click, go to Plugins, and launch TinyImage.
- Turn on the Size target toggle to switch from percentage-based quality to kilobyte targets.
- Set a global maximum file size target, such as 500 kilobytes, and optionally override that target for a specific image, such as 200 kilobytes.
- Click Export to compress the images toward the selected size targets.
- Review the exported zip file and compare the resulting file sizes to the targets.
- If needed, use the regular quality slider instead of Size target for non-targeted compression.
