This tutorial shows how to export animated GIFs from Figma using the TinyImage Figma plugin. It covers installing the plugin, selecting layers as frames, adjusting playback and export settings, and saving the finished GIF.
Things you'll need
- Figma
- TinyImage Figma plugin
Steps
- Install the TinyImage Figma plugin from the Figma Community by searching for "TinyImage" and clicking "Install" under the "Plugins" tab.
- In your Figma file, run the plugin from right-click > "Plugins" > "TinyImage Compressor".
- Click "Create a GIF", then select the layers you want to use as frames and click "Use Selected Layers".
- Adjust the GIF preview and settings, including frame order, playback speed, individual frame timing, looping, sizing, scaling, background color, transparency, image quality, and dithering.
- When the preview looks right, click "Export GIF".
- Save the exported GIF to your computer.
