Batch edit selected images
Apply a shared look to several image fills without changing your open Editor image or its edit history.
- Select Figma layers containing visible image fills. Open an image and adjust its global settings, or use an existing saved preset.
- Click Batch edit selected images in the main header or Effects panel.
- Choose Current Editor settings or a saved preset. Review the previews and turn on Show originals to compare them. Use Select all images to select or deselect the batch, or uncheck individual images to exclude them. The parent checkbox shows a mixed state when only some images are included.
- Choose Insert new images to create separate image layers at the original display dimensions, Replace image fills to update the included fills, or choose PNG, JPEG or WebP and click Download ZIP. The Insert and Replace buttons show the number of included images. New layers are arranged in a grid, selected together and brought into view; the original layers stay unchanged. Include originals in ZIP is enabled by default; it adds the unchanged source files to an
originalsfolder alongside theeditedfolder. Duplicate layer names receive unique filenames. - Use Back to Editor to resume individual editing. Canvas selection changes do not alter an open batch; use Refresh selection to load the new selection. After replacement, refresh before editing the fills again.
Batch editing supports up to 50 selected layers and 50 visible image fills. Each source must fit the Editor's 24 megapixel limit. Source files and prepared outputs each have a combined 128 MB limit; ZIP output includes originals in that limit when enabled. GIF fills are excluded; use the GIF editor for animation.
Batch settings include global adjustments, curves, colour replacement, filters and effects. Crop, perspective, selections and retouching are excluded. It uses original pixels without native Figma colour adjustments. Replacement clears those adjustments while retaining fill placement and other paints; assets above 4096 px per side are reduced for Figma. Downloads retain full source resolution and leave Figma layers unchanged.
Every included output is prepared before any fills are replaced. Cancel batch stops preparation without replacing images. Cancellation is unavailable during the final atomic replacement. Changed or missing source fills block the replacement. One Figma Undo restores replacements or removes newly inserted layers; use it before making other canvas changes. Download a ZIP with originals before replacement if you need a separate copy of the source files.

- Insert image creates a new image layer. Upscaled images retain their original display dimensions while using higher-resolution pixels.
- Replace fill updates the original image fill while retaining its placement settings and the layer's other fills. It clears native Figma colour adjustments so the result matches the editor preview. Figma Undo can restore the previous fill.
- Download exports PNG, JPEG or WebP at the edited image's full resolution. JPEG uses a white background for transparent pixels. If a format is unavailable in the current browser, choose another format.
Figma image assets are limited to 4096 pixels per side. For larger photos, Insert and Replace use a proportionally smaller asset while retaining the intended layout size. Downloads keep the full edited resolution.
If the source fill changes while you are editing, replacement is blocked. Reload the source or insert a new image instead.
