What this video covers

This video shows how to use the Convertify Figma plugin to import Adobe XD files into Figma. It demonstrates importing layers, text and color styles, prototype links, and components/instances, along with a few font and text import tips.

Things you'll need

  • Figma
  • Convertify Figma plugin
  • An Adobe XD file to import

Steps

  1. Open a new Figma file, find Convertify from the Resources icon, and run the plugin or save it to Saved plugins.
  2. In Convertify, choose "Import Adobe XD to Figma" from the select box.
  3. Drag and drop an Adobe XD file into the dropzone to create a new page in the current Figma file.
  4. Check the imported layers in Figma to confirm the structure, images, text, and groups were brought across.
  5. If needed, enable the toggles to import color and text styles and import prototype links before importing.
  6. Make sure the original Adobe XD fonts are installed on your computer, and use "auto height" for text layers if you run into text import issues.
  7. Import components and instances from Adobe XD, then review them in the Figma Assets panel if desired.
