This video tutorial is a complete step-by-step guide showing you how to automatically import your PDF files to Figma using the Convertify plugin.

To import your designs from a PDF (.pdf) file to Figma, select the Import PDF to Figma option from the Convertify select box in the plugin, and then drag and drop your .pdf file from anywhere on your computer into the dropzone area inside of the Convertify plugin to begin importing your design into Figma and wait for it to finish.

By default, the PDF will be imported as static JPG image frames. If you need editable layers, enable Import Pages as Vector Layers.

Importing editable text ​

When Import Pages as Vector Layers is enabled, Convertify also displays the Import Editable Text Layers option. This option is enabled by default and converts text stored as text in the PDF into native, editable Figma text layers.

Some PDFs store text as vector outlines or scanned images instead of text data. Those parts will remain vectors or images because the original characters are not available to edit. Convertify may also substitute fonts that are not available in Figma, which can cause small visual differences.
