What this video covers
This tutorial shows the updated 2022 way to install and uninstall Figma plugins using the Figma Community and the new “Try it out” flow. It uses the Bannerify plugin as an example and also explains how to launch installed plugins from a Figma file.
Things you'll need
- A Figma account
- Access to Figma Community
- Figma open in the browser or the Figma desktop app
Steps
- Open the Figma Community by clicking the “Community” icon or text at the top.
- Find a plugin by searching or by opening the “Plugins” tab, then open the plugin detail page.
- Click “Try it out” for the plugin you want, and choose the Figma account or Figma team to add it to.
- In the blank Figma file that opens, go to the “Resources” panel, click the three dot “More options” icon, and select “Install”.
- To use the plugin later, open a Figma file, right-click, go to “Plugins” > “Installed Figma plugins”, and select the plugin.
- To uninstall it, open the plugin from the “Resources” tab, click the three dot “More options” icon, and choose “Uninstall”.
- Use “Recents” or switch to “Installed” in the “Resources” menu to review plugins you have installed.
