What this video covers
This tutorial shows how to use the Crypto Figma plugin to open a secure Figma prototype, record the prototype interactions in the browser, and download the result as a video file. It also shows how to preview the saved WebM recording and notes that you can convert it to another format if needed.
Things you'll need
- Figma
- Crypto Figma plugin
- A configured Figma Prototype (Live Embed) and secure prototype URL
Steps
- In Figma, open the Community page and search for "crypto" under Plugins, then install "Crypto Password Protection" if needed.
- Back in your project, open the plugin from right-click > Plugins > Crypto Password Protection.
- Use the existing Figma Prototype (Live Embed) setup, click "Share Prototype URL", copy the password, and open the secure URL in a web browser.
- Log in with the password so the Figma prototype loads in the browser under the Figmatic domain.
- Click the video camera icon in the browser toolbar, allow screen capture, and choose the Chrome tab for the Crypto URL by clicking "Share".
- Interact with the prototype while recording, then click "Stop" to end the capture and download the video file automatically.
- To preview the recording, drag the downloaded file into Chrome and play it; the file is saved as a WebM video.
