What this video covers

This tutorial shows how to use the Crypto Figma plugin to open a secure Figma prototype, record the prototype interactions in the browser, and download the result as a video file. It also shows how to preview the saved WebM recording and notes that you can convert it to another format if needed.

Things you'll need

  • Figma
  • Crypto Figma plugin
  • A configured Figma Prototype (Live Embed) and secure prototype URL

Steps

  1. In Figma, open the Community page and search for "crypto" under Plugins, then install "Crypto Password Protection" if needed.
  2. Back in your project, open the plugin from right-click > Plugins > Crypto Password Protection.
  3. Use the existing Figma Prototype (Live Embed) setup, click "Share Prototype URL", copy the password, and open the secure URL in a web browser.
  4. Log in with the password so the Figma prototype loads in the browser under the Figmatic domain.
  5. Click the video camera icon in the browser toolbar, allow screen capture, and choose the Chrome tab for the Crypto URL by clicking "Share".
  6. Interact with the prototype while recording, then click "Stop" to end the capture and download the video file automatically.
  7. To preview the recording, drag the downloaded file into Chrome and play it; the file is saved as a WebM video.
