# Crop & resize

> Crop, rotate, flip and resize images before inserting them in Figma.

1. Open an image and choose **Crop**.
2. Choose **Crop & resize**, then adjust the crop, aspect ratio, rotation or flip controls.
3. Choose **Apply crop** to return to the editor.

Reopening the crop restores its previous settings. Cropping works on the source image before colour adjustments, so adjustments are reapplied afterward.

Changing or resetting a crop clears selections and retouching whose positions depend on that crop. The editor asks before clearing existing work. Use [History](/tinyimage/editor-history) to restore an earlier crop.
