# Light & colour

> Correct exposure, white balance and colour with Adjust, Colour and Curves.

## Adjust light

Choose **Adjust** for Auto tone, exposure, brightness, contrast, highlights, shadows, whites, blacks and gamma. Sliders and number fields change the same value. **Reset** clears the controls in the current panel.

## Correct colour

Choose **Colour** for Auto white balance, temperature, tint, saturation and vibrance. Use the white-balance eyedropper on a neutral area. Colour ranges let you adjust hue, saturation and luminance for individual colours.

Choose **Auto tone** in Adjust for a conservative black point, white point and midtone correction. Choose **Auto white balance** in Colour to estimate temperature and tint from neutral areas. Both actions create normal editable settings and can be undone. If no neutral area is found, use the white-balance eyedropper instead.

To replace a colour, open **Colour → Replace a colour**, then choose **Pick source colour** and click an opaque pixel in the photo. Choose a **New colour** and adjust **Colour tolerance** to widen or narrow the match. **Preserve shading** keeps the original lightness; disable it to use the chosen colour directly. The replacement strength and enable checkbox let you adjust or hide the result.

## Curves and levels

Choose **Curves** to adjust the master curve or individual RGB channels. Black point, white point and midtones control levels. **Before** shows the unadjusted source; **Compare** opens a split preview. Use **100%** to inspect detail.
