# Exporting your slides to Canva

> Export your Pitchdeck slides from Figma to PSD files that can be imported into Canva.

To export your presentation for Canva, click the **Export Presentation** button in the Pitchdeck toolbar, then select the **Canva (.psd files)** export format.

Pitchdeck will export your selected slides into a single `.psd` file when the deck fits Canva's import limit. Once the export has completed, download the `.psd` file, then import it into Canva.

> **Info:** Canva supports importing PSD files up to 300 MB per file. If the generated PSD is close to this limit, or if the deck would exceed PSD document or safe build limits, Pitchdeck will automatically split the export into separate PSD files and package them in a `.zip`.

## File size and automatic splitting

Pitchdeck first tries to create one PSD file for the whole deck. If the generated PSD is close to Canva's 300 MB import limit, or if the packed PSD document would be larger than the PSD format allows or too large to build safely in Figma, Pitchdeck automatically creates as few PSD files as possible and packages them in a `.zip`. Each split PSD can contain multiple slides.

If the **2x Retina Images** setting would force a deck to split only because the generated PSD is too large to build safely, Pitchdeck will retry the Canva export at 1x first so the slides can stay together where possible.

If Pitchdeck exports a `.zip`, unzip it first, then import the separate `.psd` files into Canva.

## Image settings

The Canva export includes the same **Image Settings** controls used by other image-based exports:

- **Compress Images** reduces the generated PSD file size where possible.
- **2x Retina Images** exports a higher-resolution PSD.
- **Downsize Large Figma Image Fills** optimizes oversized Figma image fills before exporting.

## Importing the PSD files into Canva

Open Canva and import the exported `.psd` file from your computer. If Pitchdeck exported a `.zip` file, unzip it first, then import the separate `.psd` files into Canva. Canva will convert each PSD file into an editable Canva design where supported.

> **Warning:** Animations, videos, embeds and Pitchdeck web presentation features won't be included in the exported PSD files. These are only used for presentations uploaded to the Pitchdeck web app.
