# How Hypermatic Pro licenses work

Hypermatic Pro licenses unlock paid Pro features in the Hypermatic Figma plugins. Purchases are handled through Gumroad, and your license key is sent to the email address used during checkout.

A license key can have one or more seats. Each seat is used by one Figma user.

## What is a license key?

A license key is the code that unlocks Pro access for a Hypermatic plugin or the Pro Bundle. You receive the key in your Gumroad receipt after purchase.

Use the license key itself when activating a plugin. Do not use the order ID, receipt number, email address, or invoice number as the license key.

## What is a seat?

A seat is one paid user on a license. If a license has 7 seats, up to 7 Figma users can be linked to that key.

The license seat count controls how many Figma users can use the Pro features. It does not create separate Figma accounts and it does not change your Figma team membership.

## How do I activate a Pro license in a plugin?

1. Purchase the Pro license from the Hypermatic product page or Gumroad checkout.
2. Open the Gumroad receipt and copy the license key.
3. Run the Figma plugin.
4. Click the upgrade or unlock option in the plugin.
5. Paste the license key and unlock Pro access.

If the plugin says the key is invalid, make sure you copied the license key itself and not a receipt number or order ID.

## Where can I manage a license key?

Use the [Hypermatic License Manager](https://license.hypermatic.com/) to view and manage which Figma users are linked to a license key.

The license manager is useful when someone leaves your team, a contractor finishes a project, or you need to move a seat from one Figma user to another.

## Can I move a seat to another Figma user?

Yes. Open the [Hypermatic License Manager](https://license.hypermatic.com/), enter your license key, remove the old Figma user from the license, then share the same key with the new user.

This is the usual workflow when a team member changes, a freelancer finishes a project, or someone new needs to start using the plugin.

## Can multiple people share one seat?

No. One seat is intended for one Figma user. If multiple people need to use Pro features, buy enough seats for those Figma users.

## Can I use one license on multiple computers?

A license is tied to the Figma user using the plugin, not to a specific computer. If the same Figma user is signed in on another computer, the seat is still for that same Figma user.

## What if I bought the wrong number of seats?

You can update seats from the Manage membership link in your Gumroad receipt. You can also use the [PDF Quote Generator](https://quote.hypermatic.com/) to generate a quote for the exact product and seat count before purchase.

## How do I get help finding a license key?

License key lookups are private account support requests, so they need to be handled by email. The support chat can explain where license keys are usually found; email Adam when the request needs a purchase lookup, license-key retrieval, key change, or Gumroad account check.
