# Sync component variants in Figma using a spreadsheet

This tutorial shows how to use the CopyDoc Figma plugin to sync component variants and other layer content in Figma from a spreadsheet. **Things you'll need**

- A saved CopyDoc Figma plugin
- A spreadsheet file prepared with matching column names and values

**Steps**

1. Save and run the CopyDoc Figma plugin from the Plugins menu.
2. Create a frame component named Tag, then add variants to turn it into a component set.
3. Rename the variant property to Genre and rename each variant to match the spreadsheet values, such as Synthwave and Vaporwave.
4. Drag the Tag component into your design frames and set up matching layers for fields like #Album, #Artist, #Cover, and #Tag.
5. Double-click each variant layer name in Figma to copy its Property=Value label, then paste those labels into the spreadsheet.
6. Open CopyDoc, go to Sync Content, import the Excel file, select the frames to sync, and click Sync Rows with Layers.
