# Export comments from Figma files

**What this video covers**

This tutorial shows how to use the CopyDoc Figma plugin to export Figma comments into CSV and JSON files, along with image references for the frames containing those comments. It walks through installing the plugin, entering the Figma Page URL and Figma Personal Access Token, and downloading the exported comments bundle.

**Things you'll need**

- A Figma file with comments already added.
- A Figma personal access token.

**Steps**

1. Install CopyDoc from the Figma Community under the Plugins tab, then open it from Plugins in your Figma file.
2. Choose the Export Figma Comments option and click Export Comments.
3. Copy the Figma Page URL from the Share button and paste it into the Figma Page URL field.
4. Create a new personal access token in Figma Settings under Personal Access Tokens, copy it, and paste it into the Figma Personal Access Token field.
5. Leave Include Design References enabled if you want frame image references with pin markers.
6. Click Export Comments to CSV/JSON, then download and unzip the exported files.
7. Open the CSV or JSON file, and use the frames folder to match comment thread numbers to the exported frame images.
