**What this video covers**

This tutorial shows how to use Convertify to import a 3D model into Figma, rotate, pan, and zoom its preview, then add the chosen view to the canvas as a high-resolution rendered image. It also covers ZIP packages and linked model files, replacing the current model, updating an inserted layer, and restoring a model after reopening the plugin.

**Things you'll need**

- Figma
- Convertify Figma plugin
- A glTF, GLB, or OBJ model, or a ZIP containing one model and its linked files

**Steps**

1. Open Convertify in a new or existing Figma file.
2. Click **Import into Figma**, then choose **Import 3D to Figma** from the workflow selector.
3. Drag a glTF, GLB, OBJ, or ZIP model into the import area. For models with separate BIN, MTL, or texture files, drop the linked files together or package them in one ZIP while preserving their folder structure.
4. Drag the preview to rotate the model, hold Command on macOS or Ctrl on Windows and Linux while dragging to pan, and scroll to zoom.
5. Click **Add to canvas** when the model is positioned the way you want.
6. Keep the inserted layer selected, adjust the preview, then click **Update canvas** to replace its rendered view.
7. To use a different model, click **Load another** or drop the replacement files directly onto the **Load another** button.
8. If you reopen Convertify later, select the imported layer and drop its original source files or ZIP again. Convertify restores the saved view so you can adjust it and click **Update canvas**.

> **Tip:** Convertify keeps original model files only in temporary plugin memory. Figma stores the rendered image and lightweight view settings, not the original 3D model.
