# Exporting Figma to DXF

> Export Figma frames as DXF CAD drawings with a choice of units using Convertify.

Convertify exports each Figma frame as a `.dxf` CAD drawing.

> **Warning:** DXF export is in Beta. Gradients, effects and clipping can differ from Figma. Check scale and appearance in your CAD application.

## Export a drawing

1. [Run Convertify in Figma](/convertify/overview/install) and choose **Export from Figma**.
2. Choose **Export Figma to DXF (CAD) (Beta)**.
3. Choose **Drawing units**: millimetres, centimetres, metres, inches or feet. Millimetres uses 1 Figma pixel = approximately 0.2646 mm.
4. Select frames and click **Export Selected Frames**, or click **Export This Page**.
5. Download the result and unzip it if needed. Keep each drawing's image folder beside its `.dxf` file.
6. Open the drawing in your CAD application and check the units, text and geometry.

## What gets exported

Supported paths, curves, shapes and text become CAD entities. Each top-level Figma layer becomes a DXF layer. Image fills are linked image files, so moving the drawing without its image folder can break them.

This produces DXF files, not native DWG files. To convert in the other direction, see [Importing DXF to Figma](/convertify/import/dxf).
